The local market mirrored cautious sentiment seen across most Asian equities, as concerns over tech valuations persisted ahead of an earnings update from AI bellwether Nvidia later today. New Talisman Gold Mines led the session’s decline, plunging 23.1% after the company reported challenges at its Mystery Vein site, citing narrow portals and restricted accessways that have slowed material movement. The firm also announced the dispatch of its first gold shipment in 80 years. Other notable decliners included Contact Energy (-1.8%), Mercury NZ (-1.1%), Chorus (-1.5%), and Kiwi Property (-0.5%). Losses, however, were partially offset by gains in health stocks.
