France Consumer Confidence Slightly Eases

Consumer confidence in France eased slightly to 89 in November 2025 from 90 in October, remaining below the long-term average of 100. Households’ assessments of their past financial situation slipped to -21 from -20, while expectations for their future finances eased to -12 from -11, reflecting persistent caution about their personal financial outlook. Current saving capacity fell to 21 from 23, expected saving capacity declined to 17 from 19, and major purchase intentions inched down to -30 from -29, suggesting households remain wary of spending. Meanwhile, perceptions of the past standard of living slipped to -74 from -72, and unemployment prospects decreased to 47 from 48. On a positive note, savings intentions rose to 45, marking the highest level in four months, and expectations for the future standard of living improved modestly to -55 from -56. Views on past consumer prices fell to -9 from -8, while expectations for future inflation remained unchanged at -32.
